ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Maddy Dychtwald is a nationally recognized author, demographer, public speaker and entrepreneur.  She has spent nearly twenty-five years deeply involved in exploring and forecasting demographic, lifestyle and consumer marketing trends. In 1986, she co-founded Age Wave and helped grow the company from the ground up to a multi-million dollar enterprise with a time-honored reputation as the best in its field. Maddy is the author of three books, including Influence: How Women's Soaring Economic Power Will Transform Our World for the Better (May 2010), Cycles: How We Will Live, Work, and Buy (2004), which was the winner of the 2004 Book of the Year Award from the National Community Colleges Association and co-author of an illustrated children's book entitled Gideon's Dream: A Tale of New Beginnings (March 2008). As a sought-after public speaker, Maddy has addressed more than 275,000 business leaders worldwide.  A graduate of New York University, Maddy has been married for more than 25 years and has been a working mom living in the San Francisco Bay Area for much of her adult life.
 
Christine Larson is an award-winning freelance journalist whose work has appeared frequently in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, US News & World Report and many other publications.  She often writes about  money, business and health.  She worked on staff at Adweek, Cosmopolitan and Glamour, and is the co-author of four books including The Family CFO with Mary Claire Allvine. A graduate of Princeton University, Larson was a 2010 Knight Fellow at Stanford University.  She lives in Sacramento with her husband and sons.
